School Breakfast Program

Our feeding program in action at Bugatay Elementary School. Adhika has been facilating this program here from 2007-present, at Cabbo Elementary School from 2011-2013, and at Baliwag Elementary in 2019.

A World Health Organization (WHO) study (1988-2013), found that about 1/3 of children under 5 in the Philippines have stunted growth, and 1/5 are underweight as a direct result of malnutrition. Adhika introduced a breakfast program that began with over 90 malnourished children in 2011 at Cabbo elementary school. The nutritional status of these children improved greatly. The program has since expanded to three schools, serving 200 meals per year to 35 students, equalling 7000 meals per year. Before Covid, Adhika had served a total of 119,000 meals.

Adhika has expanded its feeding program to the following schools in the Philippines:

2007- Present: Bugatay Elementary School

2011- 2013: Cabbo Elementary School

2019: Baliwag Elementary School

2020: Feeding 35 students with 200 meals per year- served 119k meals total

2021- Present: We continue to provide funds for the Nature Kids of Siargao, whose Kids’ Club provides social and educational activities for children who are still recovering from the trauma caused by Odette.  As of 2022, Adhika has raised $5000 to provide 2000 meals for Nature Kids of Siargao The breakfast program is now converted into a lunch program.
