Being an immigrant who loves her country and a social worker by profession, I wanted to focus on giving back to the Philippines.

Why did you join Adhika?
After Martial Law ended in the Philippines, I felt the need to share and help people in the Philippines, specially women and children. It has always been a good feeling being able to give back.

I want to help in any good cause, in a small way I can. My work is related to ADHIKA's goal. Always a pleasure when there's a good outcome on our programs and projects.

I believe in the mission and purpose of Adhika. I wanted to support Adhika's programs to assist Filipinos with their community needs either here in Canadaor back home in the Philippines.

As a Pinay, living in the diaspora, Adhika has been an important connection to Pinay elders, community and culture. We're a small NGO that can make a significant impact directly in the lives of people.

It has been meaningful and rewarding to hear stories/issues of our kalahi and kababayan. I feel so blessed share the skills, knowledge and abilities I have to uplift our situations.

Why did you join Adhika?
I joined Adhika's Board because I share its mission to empower communities in Canada and the Philippines, reflecting my passion for creating positive change. Adhika's workshops on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) educate and equip individuals to prevent and respond to GBV, fostering safer communities. Additionally, Adhika's support for newcomers to Canada aligns with my belief in inclusivity and equal opportunities, enhancing its impact on building a more equitable society.
